Compatibility with Windows Vista & Office 2007 - Feb 2008

The latest versions of WinSteam, @Air, @Gas and XLInterp are compatible with Windows Vista and Office 2007 but there are minor problems that will be fixed in upcoming releases for each product.  The only problem with Windows Vista relates to the help files. 

All Techware products use Microsoft’s WinHlp32.exe program for displaying help.  This program is not included with the Vista operating system but can be downloaded from Microsoft for free.  Go to www.microsoft.com/downloads and search for “WinHlp32.exe”.  You will find a title “WinHlp32.exe for Windows Vista”.  Download and install this program and help will be available. 

In versions of Excel prior to Office 2007, a link to Techware's help files was placed on the Excel Help menu.  In Office 2007, there is no Help Menu but Excel will place the link on the Add-Ins tab which you can click to launch the help.  This works fine but there is a glitch with Excel that causes Excel to crash if it is started with four or more add-ins loading links on the Add-ins tab.  If you have four Add-ins loaded with Excel, uncheck one of them before exiting Excel.  When you re-start Excel, you may add the fourth add-in when you need it but remove it before exiting again.

 
@Air 3.1 Released on October 15, 2002
This is a minor upgrade to @Air 3.0 adding a new unit set and improving the accuracy of the transport function properties.  See the @Air product data sheet for all the details.  @Air 3.1 is available as a free upgrade for all licensed users of @Air 3.0.

@Gas 3.0 Released on July 11, 2002
The latest version of @Gas, providing thermodynamic and transport properties of flue gases and moist air, is now available.  See the @Gas 3.0 product sheet for details on the new features and improvements.  If you purchased @Gas 2.0 after January 1, 2001, check out our offer for a free upgrade.
 
Update Notice for WinSteam 3.1 - March 20, 2002
An update is now available for WinSteam 3.1 which features improvements to the installation program and a minor change to DeskTop Steam.  The DeskTop Steam calculator now uses a drop down list box (similar to DeskTop Air) instead of the spin control to select stored points.  We have found this control to be more convenient than the spin control.  In addition, this version is more compatible with Windows 2000.  This upgrade is free to all licensed users of WinSteam 3.0 or 3.1.  Click HERE to download the free upgrade.

WinSteam 3.1 Released on July 25, 2001
This is a minor upgrade to WinSteam 3.0 adding a couple of features that our users have asked for.  These include additional unit sets for the Excel, 1-2-3 and Mathcad add-ins and the ability to choose either the old IFC 1967 or the new IAPWS IF-97 formulations from the DeskTop Steam calculator.  See the WinSteam product data sheet for all the details.  WinSteam 3.1 is available as a free upgrade for all licensed users of WinSteam 3.0. 
 
  @Air Version 3.0 Released on May 15, 2001
The latest version of our moist air property software package includes many new and improved features.  See the @Air product data sheet for all the details.  If you purchased @Air 2.0 within the 6 months preceding the release date, check out our special free upgrade offer.
 
  XLInterp Version 1.1 Released on May 15, 2001
The version of our linear and non-linear interpolation functions for Microsoft Excel is not an upgrade for version 1.0.  This version contains exactly the same functions as found in version 1.0 for 32-bit versions or Excel.  Support for 16-bit versions of Excel is no longer provided.  This was necessary in order to provide a version that an be downloaded from this site for purchase or evaluation.  See the XLInterp product data sheet for details.
