You may have noticed that many of Techware's software products are of
particular interest to the electric power and cogeneration industries.
This is not a coincidence. Techware's president, Ron Strianse, who is one
of its founders, has been consulting in these fields for more than 25
years. Many of Techware's software products were born to satisfy the needs
of the electric power and cogeneration industries, and since then, have been
embraced by many other fields.
The combination of Techware's software, programming expertise and knowledge
of the power and cogeneration fields, provides a strong background for
consulting in these fields. For example, one of Techware's specialties is
analyzing the feasibility of cogeneration facilities. Using our software
products and our programming expertise, we develop a computer model that will
accurately simulate the performance of the plant over a wide variety of
operating conditions. We can do this on a monthly, a daily or even an
hourly basis if necessary. Then we combine the results of the performance
simulation with our knowledge of electric utility rate structures, fuel purchase
agreements, power and steam sales agreements, and plant operating requirements
to create a realistic economic model.
